Terrace Hospice is offering a two-day Advanced Care Planning workshop. An ACP is the process of writing down your wishes/instructions for future healthcare decisions, in the event your are unable to decide for yourself.

Remembrance Day 2020

When

Road closures: Eby north and south will be closed off to traffic starting at 10:15 am, along with Lakelse at the intersection of Eby and Lakelse. Flaggers will be in place to redirect traffic.

The area around the cenotaph will be limited to only those individuals involved in the ceremony and marked off with yellow caution tape, so we are asking anyone that decides to come observe to stay back behind the yellow tape.

We also ask that you observe social distancing and to wear a mask.

The Skeena Valley Farmers Market is up and running! Please note that not all usual vendors and activities may be available. When you visit the market, follow all onsite guidelines for health and safety. Do NOT visit the farmers market if you are unwell.

Grief Support Program

Terrace Hospice Society will be delivering a Grief Support Program, starting mid-September, Tuesday evenings 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The program will run for 7-8 weeks out of our office on Lazelle Ave.

"GOOD GRIEF" Drop in Group

The Terrace Hospice Society hosts a free weekly drop-in group which offers a special space to those who are grieving. This is a comfortable open group for sharing experiences of grief while respecting each other’s questions, feelings, viewpoints, and spirituality. Participants can attend as often as they like. Refreshments provided. Join us as you continue to make the many difficult adjustments in life following a loss.

Women and Development Yard Sale

Women and Development Terrace are holding their annual, legendary garage/yard sale. Treasures and bargains galore. This is a fundraiser and all proceeds go to supporting projects for women and children in developing countries. Please come out and support a worthy cause.

Heritage Park Museum Garage Sale

The Heritage Park Museum is having a garage sale! Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we have not been able to host our regular events that helps to raise money for the museum on a yearly basis. So if you have any items you would like to donate to the museum for us to sell at the garage sale feel free to give us a call prior to drop off at 250.635.4546. We are open Tuesday - Saturday from 11:00am - 5:30pm. Any items that are not sold during the week will be donated to local thrift stores.

Do you have time to volunteer in an organization that supports your personal growth? Terrace Hospice Society is looking for a team of fun-loving, committed people to join our team. Volunteer opportunities include office help, tech support, event planners and social media gurus. Volunteering is the cornerstone of community. The time commitment is minimal, the work is enjoyable, and the rewards are too numerous to count.

Heritage Park Museum Grad Photoshoot Week

ATTENTION ALL GRADUATES!! We understand that due to COVID-19 many special events this year have been cancelled but we still want to help you create amazing memories! The Heritage Park Museum wants to welcome you, your friends, and family to take photos at our site any time from 11:00 am - 5:30 pm from June 16th 2020 - June 20th 2020. Regular entry will be a minimum $10 donation per group and if you require the services of a staff photographer entry will be a minimum $20 donation per group (CASH ONLY).

Groups meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month with alternating mid-day and evening sessions. Each 90-minute session will allow participants to share their experiences, discuss self-management skills and take part in gentle movements as a group.

Strengthening Families Together

When

Strengthening Families Together is a FREE 10 session course for the families and friends of individuals living with any mental illness. A diagnosis is not necessary. Participants receive reliable information about mental illness and available mental health services. Trained peer facilitators share problem solving, coping, and communication skills in a safe and supportive environment. SFT, provided by BCSS, will be held in Terrace on Tuesday evenings, beginning on April 7th Registration is required: 250-635-8206 terrace@bcss.org

Vancouver Whitecaps FC Spring Break Skills Camp

We are pleased to announce a Whitecaps Spring Break Skills Camp in Terrace, March 23rd to 27th, at the Thornhill Community Centre (3091 Century St, Thornhill). Players will experience games-based training in a fun environment, helping develop their technical and decision-making skills, supported by professional Whitecaps FC staff coaches. There will be daily game play (3v3 & 4v4), as well as Whitecaps Skills Challenges to help players track their improvement through the week. Each player will receive a Whitecaps FC Camp t-shirt, poster, and Skills Challenge report card.
