Pacific Northwest Music Festival

The Pacific Northwest Music Festival is an annual event in which students from all over the northwest region come together in friendly competition to improve their skills in their area of discipline: piano, voice, dance, instrumental, choral, speech arts, and band. Professional teachers are brought in from various locations around Canada to adjudicate this event. It culminates with the Scholarship Night on April 27, 2018, Friday at 6:30 pm at the REM Lee theatre where the best performers in each discipline compete for locally sponsored awards.

Terrace Tea Cup and Community Event

Vintage Pairing and the Heritage Park Museum are organizing the Terrace Tea Cup and Community Event to seek information on Terrace tea cups made in the 1950's. Please join us on April 3, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the White Spot Banquet room. Please bring your Terrace tea cup, your Easter bonnet, and a friend. Admittance by donation. Tea provided. Door prizes. 33rd Annual Multicultural Potluck Dinner and Entertainment

When

Bring your own favourite ethnic dish. Dinner tickets are available at Misty River Books (103-4710 Lazelle Avenue) and Skeena Diversity Society (4617 Lazelle Avenue): $8.00 adults; $3.00 age 10 and under. Doors Open at 4:00 pm. Welcome/Dinner at 5:00 pm. Children's Corner. Pinatas. Coffee/Tea/Juice available. You can also bring your own cutlery, plate and cup if you wish.

Terrace & District Museum Society's Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting of the Terrace and District Museum Society, which operates Heritage Park, is at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28th in the Dance Hall at Heritage Park. Join us for baked goods, coffee, and a short report on 2017 operations and our plans for 2018. We have many exciting projects on the go and would love to hear all of your feedback. Please come out and support us and our goal to preserve Terrace’s rich history.

Consent is Cool

On March 15 , 2018 at 10:00 a.m. we will be hosting a youth series regarding online use, consent, and issues affecting teens 12-14 years old. It will be led by Cst. Crystal Evelyn with the Terrace RCMP Community Department. This event is free and will be held at the Terrace Women's Centre.

Mark Perry Album Release Concert

Mark Perry and special guests perform an evening concert to launch Mark's new 2018  album, "Right Here".  The album is rooted in the Northwest and offers insight into this rural and somewhat exotic part of BC - big rivers, mighty mountains, sweeping wildfires, First Nations basketball... amoung other unique musical tales! Right Here was recorded right here in the northwest.  This is Mark Perry's 11th album.

2018 Northwest Innovation Challenge

The Skeena-Nass Centre for Innovation in Resource Economics (SNCIRE) presents the 2018 Northwest Innovation Challenge. Got a great idea brewing in your brain? Submit your innovation, invention, or idea of any kind in the fourth Northwest Innovation Challenge to win cash prizes!

Applications are available from March 1st to 31st at www.sncire.ca

The submission deadline is Saturday, March 31st at midnight.

The final judging will be a public event on Friday, April 27 at the Terrace Sportsplex.

Equality Matters: Explore #MyFeminism with BC Changemakers

March 8 | 10am to 11am | FREE Phone in toll-free from anywhere in BC to Celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) with three women who are on a mission to achieve gender equality in BC! On March 8, Women’s Enterprise Centre is hosting a timely dialogue unpacking what feminism means in 2018 and the status of gender equality in BC today. We want to unite all regions of our province to rally for progress as part of the push for gender equality around the world. Last year, ‘feminism’ was declared Word of the Year by Merriam-Webster.

4th Fiesta Latina "Brazil"

Since 2011, the Northwest Latin Group (Non-Profit) Society has been hosting the Fiesta Latina Dinner and Dance in Terrace. The 4th Fiesta Latina Dinner and Dance, featuring "Brazil” will take place at the Sportsplex Banquet Room on Saturday March 3rd, 2018 with partial proceeds going to local Terrace Charities or Community Groups. Cash bar and food to purchase from The Puckered Pig Mobile Bistro and the DJ/MC will be Steve Little.

The "Consent is Cool" workshop on March 15, 2018 has been extended to include March 13, 2018.These workshops will take place at 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be hosting a youth series regading online use, consent, and issues affecting teens 12 - 14 years old. This event (March 13, 2018) will be peer led with special activities and presenters. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. they will be addressing self confidence, self esteem, self worth, and overall physical and mental health during tough teen years.

Northwest Community College "An Evening of Fine Dining"

NWCC Foundation hosts an annual Evening of Fine Dining Student Bursary Fundraiser. Join them for a plated four-course meal prepared by the Instructional Chefs and Professional Cook students of Northwest Community College. The evening will be accompanied by the music of the Copper Mountain Stringband and a silent auction. #Inspireconfidence

When

#Inspireconfidence workshop is being held March 15, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Terrace Women’s Resource Centre. It is free for girls 12-14 years old. The workshop will include lunch and discussion around body confidence, self esteem, and maintaining good overall physical and mental health.
