Fall Frisbee Funanza

When

Want to try something new? Looking for a fun and inexpensive activity that the whole family can participate in? Come out for an introduction to the sport of Disc Golf. Celebrate this newly established course at Tetrault park with the community and club members. Throw some discs or play the 9 hole course. There will be snacks and drinks provided.

 

Take Back the Night march & 10 Foundations of Light

When

Come and join the Kermode Friendship Society, Ksan Society, Terrace RCMP, and Terrace Women's Resource Centre Society in the annual "Take Back the Night" march from Chill Soda Shop to George Little Park. Everyone is welcome! Come and show you support for anti-violence and ending sexual assault.

There will be a peace rally from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. complete with live music and refreshments at George Little Park after the march.

Work Readiness Program

Are you unemployed? Not enrolled or attending school? Have not established an EI claim in the last 3 years? At least 18 years old? TDCSS is offering a four week work readiness program. Tey will be offering resume and cover letter development, interview practice, job search assistance, life skills, free training certificates, and bus passes for transportation. Women and Development Harvest Book Sale

Women and Development are holding their Annual Harvest Book Sale on October 14, 2017. The book sale will be open from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Knox United Church. Come out and find all of your fall and winter reading in one place. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to projects that support women and children in developing countries.

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK

Fire Chief for a Day (K-3- 1 ballot only)-will be held on November 21st, we will pick up the winning child and parent (optional) in the Fire Truck from their school , and take out for breakfast at McDonalds.  We will return the child with a cake for the entire class to enjoy. ALL Fire Chief for a day Ballots entries must be returned to the Terrace Fire Hall before October 27th

BreastFeeding Challenge 2017

Break a record with women in your local area. Join us at the centre at 4553 Park Ave Terrace What: Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge. This fun event is a challenge for which geographic area (province, state or territory) has the most breastfeeding babies, as a percentage of the birthrate, “latched on” at 11am local time. Why: To celebrate breastfeeding and milk-banking, and demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding women and their families. It’s a chance for education and peer support done in a fun social way. "Latch on": 11am local time.
