Hike for Hospice

Join the Terrace Hospice Society (THS) for its annual fundraiser “Hike for Hospice” on Sunday May 5, 2019. The money raised is in support of the Rainbows Program which is an after school Grief Support Program for kids. On May 5th at 2:00 we will gather at the start of the Grand Trunk Pathway (by the model train car) which is an easy walk suitable for all ages and skill levels. The Registration booth will be set up in the Gazebo where we will collect the pledge sheets and donations.

4th Annual Business Walk

The Business Walk will be conducted by volunteer “walkers”, consisting of teams of civic leaders and business support service providers. They will come to Terrace and Thornhill businesses and ask a few basic questions about doing business in the area. The questions are meant to keep the visit very conversational, and will take only take a few minutes of your valuable time as a business owner/manager.

Free Income Tax Clinic

Free income tax clinic for people with a modest income and simple tax situation. First come, first served. One volunteer will be available to do taxes from 2011-2018. Please bring valid photo ID. Tuesday April 30th 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Community & Riverside GARBATHON

Garbage pick up party around out communities is from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with an eco-friendly (bring your own plates, cups and cutlery) by-donation BBQ, information tables, prizes, and live music from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at George Little Park. Bring the family and help us clean up where we live, work, and play! Co-sponsored by the Greater Terrace Beautification Society, SkeenaWild Conservation Trust, and the City of Terrace.

safeTALK

SafeTALK – suicide alertness training - April 17th , 1-4:30pm, in Terrace. Every year, suicide is responsible for over 800,000 deaths - which equates to one suicide every 40 seconds. SafeTALK teaches participants to recognize and engage persons who are having thoughts of suicide and to connect them with community resources trained in suicide intervention. Taiko Drumming Workshop

Learn how to play taiko drums in this fun 1 day workshop with the all-woman group Sawagi Taiko! We are so happy to be collaborating to bring Sawagi Taiko from Vancouver to Terrace. Sawagi Taiko is the first all-women's taiko group in Canada, formed in 1990. We would like to start a recreational taiko group here in Terrace, and are looking for energetic, positive, and collaborative people to join us! April 13, 2019 1 pm - 4 pm (25 spaces) OR April 14, 2019 1 pm - 4 pm (25 spaces) $65/person (TWRCS members prioritized) + eventbrite fees.

National Volunteer Week Open House

The City of Terrace Mayor and Council will be hosting an Open House at City Hall for all volunteers to attend. Please stop by and celebrate with Mayor and Council and enjoy some cake and coffee. A small token of their appreciation will be presented to each and every volunteer. There will also be a draw for some door prizes!

All volunteers in Terrace are welcome to attend so please help spread the word!
