34th Annual Multicultural Potluck Dinner and Entertainment

Sponsored by Terrace & District Multicultural Association. Tickets: Misty River Books and Skeena Diversity Centre (4617 Lazelle Avenue): $8.00 age 10 and over; $3.00 under age 10. Dinner at 5:00 p.m. Bring a potluck dish sufficient for a family of 4. Also bring your own plate and cutlery if you wish and wear your favourite ethnic costume.

2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day 5 km

When

Skeena Valley Runners present the 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day 5 km on March 16, 2019. The race starts at 10:00 am from Coast Mountain College (5331 McConnell Ave. Terrace, BC). Package Pick-up and last minute registration: 8:30 - 9:30 am in the cafeteria located in the Birch Building. Entry Cost: $20* ages 20 or older, $10* ages 19 and under and $5* children under 10. Online and advance registration closes on March 13, 2019. Race day registration add $5.

Heritage Day 2019

Heritage Day 2019 takes place at the Terrace Arena Banquet Room on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 from 1 - 4 p.m. Opening ceremonies are at 1:30. Family Day FREE Fun Swim

Bring your family and friends for a fun time to selebrate Family Day. The lazy river, spray features, diving board, hot pool, and saunas are available. Come join us for Boat Building, Games, Prizes, and Cake! We will be running a Boat Building class in the conference room, followed by a boat race in the lazy river! The fastest boat wins!

Death Cafe

The Death Café is hosted by the Terrace Hospice Society and is a place to talk about death, dying, bereavement, and to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. These gatherings are held internationally and are dedicated to discussing death openly. It’s not a counselling session but simply community members coming together in a relaxed atmosphere while sharing respectful and engaging conversation. Join the Conversation Sunday February 17th at the Terrace Library from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY The Terrace Hospice Society is looking for dedicated people to help out in a number of areas. We need office support, social media help, advertising, Board members, grant writing, bereavement support as well as Visiting Companionship to go out into the community to brighten the day for people with life limiting health issues. If you have a couple of hours a month you can make a big difference. Volunteer Training starts Wednesday February 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Edge of the Knife

YouthCo Yúusnewas Visits Terrace!

Various free workshops for teens around Terrace. February 4 - 6, 2019. Yúusnewas is an Indigenous peer-led education program that provides workshops on HIV and sexual health in urban and rural communities across British Columbia. We approach the topics of sexual health and harm reduction by centering Indigenous perspectives and incorporating traditional teachings.
