The City of Terrace is collaborating with the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS) to provide sandbagging stations for residents of the Greater Terrace area. The stations will be equipped with sand and sandbags on a self-serve basis. Sandbagging machines will also be operated by staff once they are received from Emergency Management BC (EMBC) and set up at the locations identified below.

This location is equipped with burlap sandbags and piles of sand. Bring your own shovels.
NOTES: Please drive slowly; the Public Works yard is busy with truck traffic related to general operations. Take only what you need.

Sandbag Stations for Other Areas in the RDKS:
Sandbags and sand are available at the Thornhill Fire Department, 3128 Hwy 16 East, Thornhill, on a self-serve basis 8:30 am-4:30 pm weekdays. Please bring your own shovels. This location may change to address areas of need as the high water event develops.
CLEVER Modelling Updates:
The River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the Skeena River that affects the City of Terrace. Their latest CLEVER modelling shows water levels are predicted to reach 20-year flows over the weekend, rather than the 100-year levels previously forecasted. This new data is improved over the previous information provided but is still significant. The current warming weather is leading to increased snowmelt rates and river runoff, while the forecasted rain later this week will potentially add to the river runoff.
