On Wednesday February 13, 2019 at approximately 9:28 pm, the Terrace Fire Department responded to reports of a confirmed structure fire on the 3300 block of Pheasant Street. The Fire Department believes the fire started at the rear of the carport and quickly started the fence and contents of the carport, including a vehicle on fire. A family of four was home at the time and all were able to get out of the house safely. Read more

The Terrace Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) – the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 90 years – to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign: “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere”. The campaign works to educate the public about basic but essential ways to quickly and safely escape a home fire. On August 30, 2018 at approximately 10:22 pm Terrace and Thornhill Fire Departments responded to reports of a structure fire on Doll St. on Brauns Island. The Terrace Fire Department responded within minutes and found the garage fully involved. The Thornhill Fire Department arrived and established a water supply. The fire was extinguished using multiple apparatus, 15 Terrace Fire Department members as well as numerous Thornhill Fire Department members. The fire caused extensive damage to a large shop and equipment, however, crews were able to save the house located on the property. Read more

The City of Terrace Fire Department has now lifted the campfire ban for Ferry Island Campground. All other fire bans within the City of Terrace are still in effect at this time. Read more
