Proposed Official Community Plan Bylaw Amendments - Updates

City Hall

NOTE: THIS INFORMATION IS NO LONGER ACCURATE. PLEASE CHECK HERE FOR THE LATEST UPDATES.

Due to the latest Provincial Health Orders, we are unable to hold an in-person open house for the proposed Official Community Plan Bylaw updates, since this is considered a public event. As a result, we have extended the Virtual Open House. The Public Hearing can still go ahead under the new Provincial Health Orders since it is considered a council meeting.

Here's what you need to know:

VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE

Available: Thursday, November 19, to Wednesday, December 9, at end of day

Purpose: To review the information to help you make an informed decision for or against this proposed bylaw amendment.

How to Take Part: Share your views on each panel through SurveyMonkey, or send us questions by contacting developmentservices@terrace.ca or calling 250-615-4022.

PUBLIC HEARING

Held: Thursday, December 17, from 5:00–9:00 pm at the Terrace Sportsplex

Purpose: To provide Council with your official position for or against the proposed bylaw amendments.

How to Take Part:

  • Attend in person to provide feedback verbally to Council.
  • Send your written position for or against the proposed bylaw amendments to 3215 Eby Street, Terrace, BC V8G 2X8 or email developmentservices@terrace.ca. Remember, you must provide your name and address for the public record. Written submissions are accepted right up to (and at) the Public Hearing.
  • Watch at home: this event will also be televised on CityWest and livestreamed through our Facebook page at facebook.com/CityofTerrace. We encourage anyone who is not planning to speak for or against the proposed bylaw amendments to watch from home instead.

Protocols: We will have strict protocols in place, including mask requirements, sign-in on entry for contract tracing, and physical distancing for participants.

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

Council will decide whether or not to pass the proposed bylaw amendments at a Special Council Meeting on Friday, December 18, at 12:00 noon at City Hall.
