The Terrace Fire Department has issued a complete fire ban within the city limits due to the "extreme" rating of forest fire hazard in the Northwest Fire Centre. The ban includes backyard food fires, however use of propane and briquette BBQs are permitted for use. Ferry Island is also included in the fire ban. Read more

While significant upgrades are being made to the underground and above-ground infrastructure, the largest parcel on what is formerly known as the Co-op Property is now available for redevelopment and the City will soon execute a Request for Proposal process.
