Recently, the City of Terrace's Parks, Recreation and Culture Department received letters from the students of a Grade 1 class at École Mountainview. The students walk regularly through the forests surrounding their school and were upset when they saw some trees had been cut down. They wrote to the City expressing their concerns and asking why. City flags will be flown at half mast this weekend, April 25 to 27, and on Monday, April 28. This is to honour two events: the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, who passed away on Monday, April 21, and to recognize the National Day of Mourning, which is marked annually on April 28. Read more

Brad Owens, who previously served the District of Kitimat Fire Department, will start as Terrace’s new Deputy Fire Chief on May 5, 2025. Owens is taking over from Joel Brousson, who was promoted to Chief in December of last year. Read more
