The Skeena Salmon Arts Show is back for its third annual iteration with its most expansive show yet!
For 2020, the show highlights compassion and care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the “Skeena Salmon heARTs Show,” it includes 200 wooden hearts that artists from around the region made their art on. Artists were invited to consider how they can incorporate the ways in which we show care for one another during the pandemic in addition to the standing Skeena Salmon theme, celebrating our sense of place in the northwest. The response from artists has been tremendous, with a truly diverse and rich reading of both themes.
Dates: August 1-29
Locations: Terrace Art Gallery, Misty Rivers Arts Centre (Hazelton), and Smithers Art Gallery
All works in the exhibition are included in an online fundraising auction accessible through the galleries’ Facebook pages:
50% of the proceeds go to the artists, and 50% will go to the galleries to support their operational expenses.
