Tell us what you want in downtown Terrace!

We are updating the City's Official Community Plan (OCP), and two quick surveys focused on downtown are now open:

These surveys take just a few minutes and will help guide decisions on housing, land use, and how we grow as a community. Whether you live, work, or play in Terrace, your input is essential. General comment cards, and printed surveys are also available at City Hall, Public Works, Library, Sportsplex and Aquatic Centre.

Surveys close Monday, August 25

Updating the Official Community Plan

We are updating the City of Terrace’s Official Community Plan (OCP) to meet the needs of our growing community and to address the housing and climate emergencies impacting our city.

Your input will inform our plan and policies. We want to create a shared vision for Terrace's future. So the more community input we get, the better.

What is an OCP?

  • Guides decisions on planning and land use
  • Forward-looking, describes the long-term vision of a community
  • Informed by provincial government policy
  • Must comply with provincial government legislation
  • All bylaws must be consistent with the OCP
  • Addresses matter like housing, transportation, infrastructure, and climate change

What does an OCP include?

  • Existing and proposed land use
  • Existing and proposed public facilities
  • Major road, sewer and water systems plans
  • Policies and targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Development Permit Areas (DPAs) and their guidelines
