On Thursday, September 19, 2019, Terrace Community Forest (TCF) presented the City of Terrace with a cheque for $750,000, which represents the revenue generated by tree harvesting within the operating areas that TCF manages. This revenue brings the total the City has received from TCF to $1.2 million since it received forest tenure in 2007.

The City is celebrating this transfer of funds just as National Forest Week kicks off. Held September 22–28 this year, this event is promoted by the Canadian Institute of Forestry to raise awareness about Canada’s forest heritage and the value of this renewable resource.
