On the Public Hearing agenda:

  • In preparation for third reading of amendments to the zoning bylaw and Official Community Plan, Council will be presented with details of a request for a land use designation change from Neighbourhood Residential to Urban Residential to permit the development of a 12-unit townhouse project at 2404 and 2406 Kenney Street.

On the Regular Council Meeting agenda:

  • Council will receive correspondence from BC Hydro about their North Coast Electrification project.
  • Council will consider a request from Terrace Search and Rescue for a letter of support for their application for canine capacity designation.
  • Council will consider a request from the Skeena Valley Seniors Society for a resolution of support for a funding application.
  • Council will consider adoption of the new City of Terrace Accessibility Plan – Phase I.
  • Council will receive the Social Development Program Quarterly Report.
  • Council will consider adoption of the 2024-2028 Financial Plan.
  • Council will consider adoption of updated water usage taxes.
  • Council will consider adoption of a bylaw to amend water frontage taxes.

On the Committee of the Whole agenda:

  • Council will be presented with details of a Development Variance Permit application to increase the maximum square footage and number of accessory buildings at 5139 McConnell Avenue.

The public and media are welcome to attend our meetings in person. We also continue to use Microsoft Teams for virtual participation.

For those who want to tune in for observation only, a webcast is also available on our website or through our Facebook page. As a reminder, we cannot respond to comments on Facebook during the meeting.

How can you participate in upcoming Council meetings, public hearings, and more? You are welcome to participate in our meetings in person or virtually. Members of the public have an opportunity in the public hearing to provide their input on the topic being discussed once the Mayor calls for speakers. There is also an opportunity at the end of our regular Council meeting for the public and media to comment or ask questions about items on the regular Council meeting agenda.
