Regular Council Meeting: 7:30 pm

Regular Council:

  • Martin Holzbauer will be discussing Climate Change Action and Net Zero goals.
  • Jane Grisley, Nicola Harper, and Ryan Curr of Columbia Paramedic Academy will be requesting assistance in finding a location for paramedic training.
  • Roger L’Heareux, of Terrace Curling Association, will be requesting support for hosting the high school Provincial Curling Championship.
  • Council will consider launching the 2023 public budget consultation survey online for a period from January 24 to February 10, 2023.
  • Council will consider adopting Communications Policy No. 119 that will hold the City to a standard for Communication.
  • Council will consider submitting an amendment to the UBCM Strengthening Communities’ Services Program, requesting an additional $86,000 be added to the $112,000 presently funded amount for the Bridging Homelessness Resilience Initiative, to support the addition of a second Community Safety and Security Officer.
  • Council will consider supporting the submission of an application to the Ministry of Education and Child Care, ChildCare BC New Spaces Fund, for up to $400,000.
  • Council will consider adopting the Temporary Loan Bylaw.
  • Council will receive the December 2022 Building Synopsis.

Committee of the Whole (Development Services Component):

  • Council will review a Temporary Use Permit application for the property at 5412 Highway 16. The applicant, Monster Industries Ltd., is requesting to operate a light industrial business activity for the specific uses of light manufacturing, welding, machine or metal fabrication, trade contracting and outdoor storage of industrial materials and equipment related to the operation of a construction and maintenance company, for a term of two years ending on December 31, 2024.
