The City has installed three unique, carved wooden benches on Ferry Island for all residents and visitors to enjoy! These have already been a popular new addition, with families exploring the island to find the benches and taking photos.
Carved by JJs Woodart and paid for by Terrace Community Forest, the benches are in three different locations around the island. You can find one:
- overlooking the pond
- on the main perimeter trail, closer to the east side of the island, where the wizard carving is
- on the northwest side of the island, just past the section where you walk under the new bridge
We've also resurfaced a major section of trail on the west side of the island, as well as added a volleyball net to the grassy area near the playground. The net will stay in place all summer.
We're also in the process of upgrading the campground picnic tables, replacing the older, blue lumber tabletops with local Yellow Cedar, a much nicer and more durable material.
Rain or shine....might be time for a walk on Ferry Island!
