Collaboration between Terrace Community Foundation and City connects five more community non-profits with hundreds of hours of grant writing support

The City of Terrace and Terrace Community Foundation are excited to announce the third successful cohort of applicants to the Grant Writing Support program. The program provides grant writing support to local non-profit groups to help them secure funding for projects that benefit the community. In this round, the Grant Writing Support team approved 230 hours of support and selected five applicants to receive these services:

  • Heal Yoga Junior
  • Kinsmen Club of Terrace
  • Northwest Regional Airshow Society
  • Terrace Amateur Radio
  • Uplands Elementary PAC

The City of Terrace originally received funding to contract the services of a professional grant writer for a year through a pilot program in 2020. In May 2021, a commitment from LNG Canada and annual successful grant applications to Northern Development Initiative Trust allowed the Grant Writing Support program to continue through 2023. It is being administered with assistance from the Terrace Community Foundation.

“It’s great to see this program gaining momentum in the community. There are so many local groups that do good for our community, and I’m glad we can support them in doing so. We couldn’t provide that support without the generous contribution of LNG Canada, and we would like to extend our thanks for their ongoing commitment to this program,” said City of Terrace Mayor Carol Leclerc.

The fourth intake is set to open in the second quarter of 2022. More details and deadlines will be provided when available at https://www.terrace.ca/grants.
