City of Terrace offices
The City of Terrace offices will be closed on Thursday, November 11, in honour of Remembrance Day. The Sportsplex will also be closed. The Terrace & District Aquatic Centre will have public swims from 11:30 am–1:30 pm; 1:30–3:30 pm; and 3:30–5:30 pm. All facilities will be open on Friday, November 12, for regular operating hours.
Ceremony
The Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held outside. The Cenotaph will be roped off so only those participating in the Ceremony will be allowed up near the Cenotaph.
ACQS will be providing traffic control directing traffic away from the Cenotaph so that the public can come and observe the Ceremony safely.
Traffic from Eby and Hwy 16 up to Eby and Lazelle will be blocked, as will traffic coming down Lakelse and wanting to turn on the Eby.
The Marching on of colours will take place at 10:45 am.
CFNR will be onsite recording and broadcasting on their Facebook page for those of you that would like to join in virtually.
Luncheon
There will be a luncheon provided at the Branch after the Ceremony for the general public. Free. Families are welcomed.
Unfortunately there will no opportuning to make a table reservation for the luncheon. The only tables that will be reserved will be for those participating in the Cenotaph ceremony.
Dinner
There is a dinner at the Branch at 5 pm at a cost of $20/person. The dinner is open to everyone with the dinner for Veterans being covered by the Branch. If you would like a dinner ticket, please call or text 250-641-5531.
