The Pacific Northwest Music Festival is an annual event in which students from all over the northwest region come together in friendly competition to improve their skills in their area of discipline: piano, voice, dance, instrumental, choral, speech arts, and band. Professional teachers are brought in from various locations around Canada to adjudicate this event. It culminates with the Scholarship Night on April 27, 2018, Friday at 6:30 pm at the REM Lee theatre where the best performers in each discipline compete for locally sponsored awards. The Gala Night is the final performance where the most entertaining performances are highlighted. This begins at 6:30 pm on April 28, 2018 at the REM Lee theatre. If you are interested in entering the Music Festival, the syllabus is available online at www.pnmf.ca or you can purchase a copy of it at Sight and Sound or at Misty River Books. The entry deadline is Jan. 15, 2018. Entries must be postmarked on or before that date to be accepted.
